Facilities

TWI offers the following brazing facilities

Furnace/Vacuum brazing
  • Furnace/Vacuum- with fast gas cooling and a maximum temperature of 1200°C. Maximum component size of 250x200mm diameter;
Induction brazing
  • Induction - in vacuum, with inert gas, or with fluxes, with a temperature capability of 1400°C;
Torch/Flame brazing
  • Torch/Flame - various torches with different fuel/gas mixtures.

In addition, the following services are offered:

  • Parent and filler metal selection
  • Joint design (including Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
  • Thermal processing procedures
  • Selection of appropriate brazing process
  • Analysis through Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and Energy Dispersive X-ray analysis (EDX) and optical microscopy,
  • Mechanical testing and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT)
  • On site analysis and process review
