CRP Selection Process

TWI's Research Board is a committee consisting of representatives from TWI Member companies and a small number of respected academics. Together with TWI senior staff it determines the content and guides the progress of the CRP.

About six months before a new three year CRP cycle, candidate ideas are invited from TWI Members, the Research Board, Industry Teams and TWI staff. These ideas are consolidated into outline proposals and put forward to the Research Board. The Research Board then assesses the ideas, prioritises them according to Industry and Technology needs, makes a final decision on which proposed projects will be part of the CRP and hence the new programme is formulated.

Once work is started, regular reviews take place and reports are produced according to the project plan. Each report is then reviewed by the Research Board, amended as necessary by the respective Project Leader, and finally issued as a Member Report for the benefit of all TWI Industrial Members.
